The Howling Moon roof top tent's come from South Africa where these tents have been developed and proven on countless safaris over many many years. The mounting base fits to your vehicles roof by the way of roof bar's or roof rack's and can be positioned to open to the front, side or rear. Although the add-on annex is not used in the forward application, when you have the tent facing to the rear or side you can unzip the rear door to have full acces to the vehicle. The newly designed annex actually gives you door's on all sides so you have the choice of which way you want to come and go, this is a great idea when taking into account the weather conditions.
Setting up the Star Gazer after a day's touring around is just too easy, after removing the travel cover and the velcro fastening straps, grab the sliding ladder and the Star Gazer flips open giving you an almost intantanious set-up. The windows and fly are held in place with the supplied stays and thats pretty much it, with all the bedding inside the tent set-up is complete and ready to use. Packing up the tent is just as easy, with the ability of leaving your bedding inside its just a matter of removing the fly and window stays and folding the tent down, the travel cover zips into place and your ready for your next destination.
